Natural Homemade Body Spray
I’m all about simple and effective recipes. This recipe for natural homemade body spray with essential oils doesn’t disappoint! Here’s how to make it:
- First, grab a small glass atomizer bottle. When using essential oils, it is important to use glass containers as the oils are powerful and can break down plastics. Not sure which bottles to look for? These are the glass atomizer bottles that I use. I love that I can use them over and over again.
- Second, fill the glass bottle (leaving a bit of head room at the top) with distilled water.
- Third, add 15 – 20 drops of your favorite essential oil.
- Finally, shake well and use as a body spray after bathing. Be sure to avoid your eyes when spraying!
Which Essential Oils Should I Use in This Recipe?
While I encourage you to use your favorite essential oils in this body spray, you may be new to essential oils and not know where to start. Here are a few ideas regarding essential oils to use in this recipe:
Wild Orange – This essential oil is perfect for you if you’re a citrus fan! It is invigorating and uplifting.
Peppermint – Peppermint essential oil is great for a quick energy boost. While it would be great to use first thing in the morning, you may want to avoid using it before bed.
Lavender – Known for its calming properties, lavender essential oil is the perfect choice for a body spray to use before bed.
A Word About Essential Oil Safety
As always, I encourage you to do your due diligence when it comes to using essential oils. All essential oils are not created equal. Many oils found in grocery stores and health food stores are not quality. Some even contain toxic ingredients and cheap filler oils. Be sure to only purchase high-quality essential oils from a reputable company.
